Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA) has appointed Tsun Chen as its new Secretary General effective on 8 September 2023. He will lead and manage the Secretariat of HKGFA.

Tsun has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining HKGFA, he worked for a number of corporate finance advisory firms and a specialist bank where he was responsible for cross-border mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, debt and equity restructurings and direct investments.  Tsun is a qualified solicitor in England & Wales (non-practising), holds a BSc. in History and Philosophy of Science from University College London and is certified by the CFA in ESG Investing.

Following the new appointment, Ms Jenny Lee, HKGFA’s Under Secretary General currently, will be appointed as the Deputy Secretary General, continue to lead the collaboration and engagement with external partners, while advancing the development of transition finance, green tech engagement and capacity building with our industry members.

In recognition of the full dedication and long-term contribution by Ms Chaoni Huang and Ms Tracy Wong Harris, the outgoing Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General respectively, they will both continue to serve in the Executive Committee under the new capacity of Executive Vice Presidents by advising and setting strategic direction for our association.

The new appointments will facilitate and support the expanded scope of work of HKGFA to meet the increasing demand for sustainable finance in Hong Kong, Mainland China and globally. Together with the five working groups recently restructured and over 160 institutional members with diverse and deep industry expertise, HKGFA is well-positioned to lead and reinforce its vital role in fostering and accelerating exchange and collaboration among governments, regulatory bodies, and the private sector. Our efforts extend beyond Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area (GBA), enabling businesses to make tangible progress toward a net-zero transition.
