COP26 will be the latest in an almost three-decade series of annual meetings of the UN Conference of the Parties (COP), where country leaders from all over the world will agree on global action to minimise the scale of future climate change and its impacts on our lives and the natural environment.
Its timing is crucial; the recently published landmark report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) declared a “code red for humanity”, confirming that without radical reductions in carbon emissions this decade, temperature rises above 1.5 degrees would be inevitable and irreversible.
As the sustainability consultant for COP26, Arup, in partnership with leading organisations and think-tanks, is organising the Race to Zero webinar series building
up to the global summit. The series will bring together policy makers, climate experts and business leaders from Hong Kong, China, Japan, the Philippines and
Vietnam to share insight on climate change and agree on united actions to achieve our common goal – carbon neutrality.
