Speakers’ bios:

Mr. Ronald Young, Head of Sustainable Finance Asia, Global Banking and Advisory, Societe Generale; Sustainable Finance Products Workstream Lead, HKGFA

Ronald is Head of Sustainable Finance for Asia at Societe Generale based in Hong Kong. He is responsible for the origination and structuring of sustainable finance transactions and the development of innovative impact finance solutions across North Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia.

 

Ronald has completed numerous landmark Green, Social, Sustainability and Sustainability-Linked financing deals across various sectors and asset classes in the region, including several first-of-its-kind transactions. In addition, he has been contributing to the advances of the sustainable finance market standards in Asia and globally, leading the Sustainable Finance Product Workstream of the Hong Kong Green Finance Association, and participating actively in various committees and working groups of a number of industry associations.

 

Ronald has more than 17 years of structured finance and principal investing experience in the Renewable Energy, Infrastructure and Natural Resources sectors across Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.

 

Prior to his current role, Ronald was a senior member of Societe Generale’s Energy Finance and Advisory team in the region. Ronald graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Management & Technology Dual Degree Program, with a Bachelor in Economics (in Finance) from the Wharton School and a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is a CFA Charterholder, and holds a Master of Business Law and the Certificate in ESG Investing.

 

Mr. Jonathan Walbridge, Chief Financial Officer, Digital Edge

Jonathan Walbridge has more than 20 years of finance and infrastructure investing experience at institutions across Asia Pacific, Europe, the United States and Latin America. Prior to joining Digital Edge, Jonathan worked for 14 years at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), the world’s largest infrastructure manager. During his time, he worked on acquisitions and served on main boards across more than 45 companies within the group’s portfolios. He was most recently a Managing Director with MIRA in Hong Kong. He is a native of New Zealand and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington.

 

Ms. Dharisha Mirando, Lead, Finance Engagement & Water Risk Valuation, China Water Risk

Dharisha hails from the finance industry and leads China Water Risk’s (CWR) engagements with the finance sector. She has published reports with the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC) and both buyside and sell-side firms on the materiality of water and climate risks on the financial sector. In addition, her work can be found in two books published by Palgrave Macmillan. She is a frequent commentator on Bloomberg TV and is a prolific speaker engaging with central banks, banks, investment funds, and pension funds. Prior to joining CWR she worked in the investment team of a long-only public equities fund and in the impact investment space in London and Singapore.

 

Mr. Jason Chang, Associate Partner, Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change, ERM

Jason is an Associate Partner of the Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change Team with ERM based in Hong Kong. Key service areas include Climate Change Risk Assessments, Greenhouse Gas Emissions Quantification, and ESG Strategies. Jason is also providing services for the Technology sector, particularly for Data Center Development and Site Selection Due Diligence in Asia Pacific and is the Regional Account Manager for a global technology sector client.
