The “Outstanding ESG Enterprises Recognition Scheme” 2023 is jointly organized by Sing Tao News Corporation Limited (Sing Tao) and the Center for Economic Sustainability and Entrepreneurial Finance (CESEF), School of Accounting and Finance, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It aims to promote the concept of ESG and enhance public awareness of ESG across different sectors of society, as well as to facilitate its application in daily life.

As the world moves towards low-carbon and sustainable development, ESG has become an issue of concern to the community, given the fact that Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing requires rigorous ESG reporting by all listed issuers, making ESG a critical issue of concern across various sectors of society. As a global media organization, Sing Tao has actively supported the development of ESG over the years. In May 2023, the Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Center for Economic Sustainability and Entrepreneurial Finance at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, hoping to promote academic and industry exchange and the integration in the ESG field through the professional knowledge and experience of CESEF, as well as its academic credibility.

Sing Tao will appoint authoritative ESG experts and leaders from various sectors as judges to evaluating their performance in the three major areas of environment, social, and corporate governance. Together, they will recognize outstanding enterprises that uphold the principles of ESG, and providing professional advice to participating companies. thereby promoting the development of green finance in the industry, creating a favorable investment climate, and raising public awareness of the importance of ESG in social sustainability.
