The Overseas Promotion Meeting on Guangdong ETS will be held on September 2, 2021, Thursday, 2:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. (GMT+8). The meeting, adopting a combination of online and offline modes, is organized by China Emissions Exchange (Guangdong).

As one of the first seven national level carbon trading pilots, Guangdong ETS has established a leading position in its trading scale since its official launch in 2013. As of July 31, 2021, the cumulative trading volume of Guangdong carbon emissions allowances (GDEA) has reached 196 million tons with its cumulative trading turnover of 4.446 billion yuan, both ranking the first nationwide. Furthermore, Guangdong ETS distinguishes itself as the first carbon trading pilot with GDEA spot trading exceeding 4 billion yuan. After several years’ development, Guangdong ETS has grown to be a mature and open market featuring high liquidity and diversified market participants.

In order to continuously further the development of Guangdong ETS, improve its international influence and market attention, and put related encouragement policies into practice, the promotion meeting, targeted at potential overseas institutional investors, aims to fully display policies and investment opportunities in Guangdong ETS, introduce facilitation measures to participate in Guangdong ETS with cross border RMB and enhance overseas investors’ understanding of the market.
