Professor Christine Loh is the Chief Development Strategist, Institute for the Environment at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is also Visiting Professor at the Anderson School of Management, UCLA. Professor Loh is a lawyer by training and a commodities trader by profession. She also has a long career in public policy starting in the 1980s. She has been a legislator in Hong Kong, was the CEO of the non-profit think tank Civic Exchange, and was the Undersecretary for the Environment (2012-17), where she first championed green finance. She is an Advisor to the Hong Kong Green Finance Association, and a board member of CDP Worldwide. Her other commitments weave between academia, industry and philanthropy, such as being a board member of the Global Maritime Forum. member of BASF’s Stakeholder Advisory Council, as well as HSBC’s Climate Advisory Panel. She is also a Director of the Robert HN Ho Family Foundation. Loh is the author of many academic and popular works, ranging from history and politics to urban issues and the environment. She is a sought after speaker and moderator of meetings.
