Jacob Wienberg Sondervang Sorensen is the Director of the Partner Funds Division of Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department of ADB. He assumed office in April 2019. Mr. Wienberg Sorensen also leads the establishment of ADB’s The Innovative Finance Facility for Climate in Asia and the Pacific (IF-CAP).

Mr. Wienberg Sorensen is responsible for a group of multisector trust funds, administration of project-specific cofinancing, and management of bank-wide systems and data on financing partnership.

Previously, Mr. Wienberg Sorensen was Director of Office of Cofinancing, overseeing resource mobilization relationship management, and cofinancing processing and administration. He has been Senior Advisor to the Vice President (Private Sector Cofinancing Operations), providing strategic advice on policies and business processes, assisting the Vice President on operational analysis and organizational matters related to private sector and cofinancing operations. He has also worked in ADB’s Office of the Auditor General.

Mr. Wienberg Sorensen has over 21 years of experience in investment banking and in development banks. Prior to joining ADB, he was Chief Operating Officer for Societe Generale’s Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities business in Australia. Mr. Wienberg Sorensen held roles as Regional Audit Director and Local Head of Audit for Societe Generale, Australia, and WestLB, Tokyo.

Mr. Wienberg Sorensen, a national of Denmark, holds a M.Sc. in International Business from University of London, United Kingdom, and a B.Sc. in Commercial Law and Business Administration from the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark.
