Hong Kong Green Finance Association – Manager


Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA) is an independent, non-profit organization with over 160 Hong Kong-based institutional members and a platform that promotes and develops Hong Kong as a leading green and sustainable finance centre. HKGFA is also a founding member of the Greater Bay Area Green Finance Alliance (GBA-GFA). As the Hong Kong representative for GBA-GFA, HKGFA enables and facilitates member access and integration with GBA sustainable finance initiatives in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Macau.


HKGFA’s work is organized across six key pillars of sustainable finance engagement with its members; Five Working Groups (Banking – Financing the Transition; Product Innovation and Solutions; Sustainability Standards and Disclosures; GBA-GFA; and Real Estate); Education and industry capacity building; Thought leadership and research; Regulatory engagement; and External collaborations with international and local associations on global best practices. Members include banks, asset managers, consultants, professional service firms, and sustainability market infrastructure and technology service providers.


Job Description

We are looking for a talented individual from a diverse background, a self-starter and team player. This is an exciting and dynamic role which involves engagement with senior representatives from the sustainable finance industry, policy makers and regulators. It offers a diverse exposure to the management and operations of an NGO including, advocacy; stakeholder and cross-border collaboration; fundraising; event management and new business development opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the daily operations of HKGFA Secretariat with the guidance of senior leadership and performing administrative, operational and accounting functions.
  • Management of HKGFA’s ongoing processes, operations and output to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Support with designing, reviewing, and improving the Association’s structure through management of knowledge, resources and skills gaps.
  • Oversee initiatives from ideation to implementation.
  • Drive high-performing Working Groups, workstream initiatives, coordinate projects, and promote communication and collaboration between members to ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives.
  • Support capacity-building events and conferences and manage HKGFA’s social media platform.
  • Grow and deepen the existing membership base, including developing strong relationships with senior representatives, encouraging active engagement in HKGFA’s work and integrating HKGFA members’ feedback into potential initiatives.
  • Reporting and communication with Executive Committee including attendance and preparation of materials for regular Executive Committee meetings and support with delivery on HKGFA’s strategic plans, goals and initiatives.
  • Provide direct support and coordinate with GBA-GFA counterparts and Secretariat on cross-border working group initiatives and bilateral meetings; and/or other Working Groups or workstreams.
  • Build positive relationships with regulators, policymakers, industry stakeholders and other market associations and partners involved in banking, capital markets, insurance, listed companies, asset owner and pension funds to support the sustainable finance ecosystem.


  • 7-8 years of experience in sustainability or relevant industry experience.
  • Undergraduate degree: environment, business management and administration, finance, communications
  • Microsoft Office skills (proficiency in Word, Excel and Powerpoint), Chinese word processing and familiar with Word Press
  • Strong communicator and skilled in relationship management across a range of stakeholders. Professional level English, Putonghua, and Cantonese (oral and written)
  • Must display a strong work ethic, organization, attention to detail, excellent time management and project management skills, be a team player as well work independently
  • Ability to motivate, coordinate, and ensure proper time management or objectives and deliverables
  • Experience in organizing and directing small teams; planning and leading strategic initiatives
