As a global financial centre, Hong Kong links mainland China and the rest of the world with its financial services institutions, banks, regulators and prominent pool of talent. It is also a pioneer in the green finance market.
The HKSAR Government has been taking proactive and concrete steps in promoting the city as a leading Green Finance and Green Tech hub such as issuance of green bonds and set-up of sustainability-related funds and grants to facilitate green projects obtaining capital more conveniently and flexibly.
Ms. Tracy Wong Harris, Vice President and Deputy Secretary General, HKGFA; Managing Director, Head of Sustainable Finance Asia, Standard Chartered Bank shared in the Brand Hong Kong video “Hong Kong: a global connector of finance” on what makes Hong Kong tick as a “ready to go” international financial centre in the 21st century, highlighting “Hong Kong is a superconnector, well positioned to connect (mainland) China and the rest of the world.”
