Ms. Jenny Lee, Deputy Secretary General, HKGFA spoke at the EVIDENT & BMQ Flagship Event: Mobilizing Capital for Impact on 7 November 2023 on “Living in the Future Today: Concrete Tech Applications Revolutionizing Impact Investing” At a  panel discussion led by Mr. Victor Yim​, Head of Fintech, Cyberport . Other panel speakers included Mr. ​Ben McQuhae, Founder, Ben McQuhae & Co., who is also HKGFA’s Vice President; Ms. Elsa Pau, Founder, CEO, BlueOnion; Mr. ​Florian Spiegl, Founder & CEO, EVIDENT and  Mr. ​Julien Martin, CEO, co-Founder, Digital Climate Group.

The panel stressed the importance of transparency to showcase the latest technology, infrastructure, and data to raise awareness and potential funding for new technological advancements. Collaboration between the public and private sectors is crucial to fund emerging/early-stage technologies to tackle future climate challenges. Another solution suggested by the speakers is tapping into the retail capital to activate public awareness and capacity building for SMEs to mobilise potential transition activities.
