On 10th March 2022 (Thur), the UNDP- hosted Financial Centres for Sustainability organised a webinar on the key takeaways from the 2021 state of play report, based on the FC4S Annual Assessment Programme (AP), a first of its kind in evaluating the state of sustainable finance across the world’s leading financial centres. Our Vice President and Special Advisor to Chairman; Founder of Ben McQuhae & Co, Mr. Ben McQuhae spoke at the event to share the key green and sustainable finance updates in Hong Kong, as well as the latest initiatives on capacity building and talent support.
The fourth annual State of Play report by the UNDP-hosted Financial Centres for Sustainability (FC4S) Network has identified several key areas where more focus is required to underpin progress around the sustainable finance agenda. The report, ‘Leading Financial Centres Stepping Up Sustainability Action’, was published on Monday, 28th February.
Overall, the report provides compelling evidence that financial centres’ initiatives were characterised by strong growth, increased scope, greater maturity and accelerated action across 2021. And with this year’s COP27 expected to focus on unlocking further capital in support of the transition, 2022 is shaping up to be an important year for financial centres and their sustainable finance activities.
