HKGFA remains a strong supporter of the Eco Expo Asia 2023 with 2 representatives speaking at the event on 26 October and 27 October. 

On 26 October, Mr. Tsun Chen, Secretary General, HKGFA spoke at the first panel discussion on “Perspectives and Applications towards Zero-Carbon-Ready” moderated by Timothy Lok (Swire Properties). Other panellists included Felix Chan (Arup), Ir Sr Jonathan Lee (Savills) and Simon Law (Sino Group).

Tsun emphasised the importance of green finance and green technology in driving a sustainable built environment. He also mentioned the six key pillars which are essential for decarbonising the built environment including how energy performance certification supports the development of green financial products. The Zero-Carbon-Ready Building Certification Scheme launched in September can be a powerful tool and call to action in the pursuit of a sustainable future for the built environment.

On 27 October, Mr. Ronald Young, Head of Sustainable Finance Asia, Global Banking and Advisory, Societe Generale; Sustainable Finance Products Workstream Leader, HKGFA shared his insights in the session “Evolving ESG Landscape and the Future of Sustainable Finance”. 

Ronald provided an overview of the trends of global and APAC Green and Sustainable Finance market developments, showcasing the increasing vibrancy of the overall market. 

HKGFA will continue to advocate awareness building in the green and sustainable finance market and strengthen the ecosystem through our Working Groups and capacity building initiatives.
