HKGFA’s Executive Vice President, Ms. Tracy Wong Harris, is appointed to the HKSAR Government’s Green Tech Fund Assessment Committee (GTFAC)!
On 2 October 2026, the HKSAR Government announced the appointment of five new members and the reappointment of six members to the GTFAC for a two-year term, starting from 1 January 2027. Chaired by the Permanent Secretary for Environment and Ecology (Environment), the Committee is composed of cross-sector leaders who will assess applications for the Green Tech Fund (GTF) and monitor the progress of the approved projects to advance the development of green technologies and drive Hong Kong’s decarbonisation journey.
The HKSAR Government set up the GTF in December 2020 to channel funding to support the research and development of green technology projects dedicated to decarbonise Hong Kong and enhance the city’s environmental protection efforts. HK$ 400 million has been allocated to the GTF to support 39 projects from local public and private institutions, involving a total grant of around HK$ 171 million.
Reflecting on the appointment, Ms. Harris said:
“I am honoured to join the GTFAC (term from 1 January 2027), as green tech is vital to turn climate urgency into scalable solutions, and I would be delighted to contribute.”
「我很榮幸獲委任加入綠色科技基金評審委員會(任期由2027年1月1日開始)。綠色科技是應對氣候緊迫性的關鍵。我期待運用可持續金融經驗,助力推動高影響力項目。」
