About This Working Group
Green and Sustainable Insurance Working Group, co-chaired by Aon Hong Kong Ltd and Friends of The Earth (HK), aims to develop a compulsory green insurance system which focuses on supporting and coordinating with other green/ sustainable financial services that are compliant with the Environmental, Social and Governance reporting requirements and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Planned Activities
The working group will focus on collaborating with the HK Insurance Authority to develop a “Green Insurance Principles (read the full document below)” Guideline to spur the development of Green Insurance; holding 4 CPD seminars to educate industry participants about the Green Insurance Principles in conjunction with HK Federation of Insurers, HK Insurance Law Association and Confederation Insurance Brokers, introducing the Green Bond Principles in the new Insurance Linked Securities legislation; and conducting a student contest ‘New Green Insurance Policies/ Solutions’ to attract more attention on green insurance by allowing undergraduates to analyse the insurance industry and present their ideas.
