Programme Overview and Objectives

The HKGFA-CASI Certificate in Sustainable Finance is a self-paced, professional level online English programme aimed to provide a comprehensive and practical application of sustainable finance, with a focus on Asia. The programme is uniquely structured to offer six online courses via the CASI Academy, in addition to live webinar(s) hosted by HKGFA, featuring industry experts and in-person networking opportunities for professional development.

Who Should Attend

Professionals and executives in the finance and/ or sustainability industry who wish to deepen their practical understanding of the relevant topics and further develop their skillsets for career advancement.

There are no admission requirements, but we recommend candidates to have basic foundational knowledge in sustainability to maximise the benefits of this programme.

Programme Benefits

• This programme is one of the Eligible Programmes under the Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme (Programme Identification Code: GTP-686255; Effective date under the Scheme*: 2026/03/27). After completing Eligible Programmes, eligible applicants can apply for a subsidy of up to 80% of the relevant fees (full-time student applicants can apply for a subsidy of up to 100% of the relevant fees), subject to a ceiling of HK$ 10,000. The reimbursement application should be submitted via the application portal of the Scheme within 3 months from the date of programme completion. *The Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme only accepts reimbursement applications in relation to an Eligible Programme with an enrolment date that is on or after the effective date of such Programme.

• Students completing the course are eligible to apply for Module 1 and Module 2 exemptions of the HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework Accreditation on GSF Core Level Training Programme.
• SFC licensed persons may be able to claim CPT hours, based on the member guidelines.
• Certificate holders may participate in an in-person networking session, and those who receive the certificate will automatically join the HKGFA alumni network to enjoy ongoing training and networking opportunities.

How To Get Certified

Candidates will have 6 months from registration to complete all course content then schedule and take the assessment.

The assessment will be completed virtually with online proctors administered by CASI. Upon completing 100% of the mandatory course content and achieving over 75% in the assessment, candidates will receive a digital Certificate of Completion. Recommended Study Hours

The learning content is 30 hours in duration, and the recommended study hour is ~60 hours, including pre-readings, online learning, webinar(s), the assessment, and an optional in-person networking session. You will have 6 months from registration to complete all course content then schedule and take the assessment.

Assessment Information

Assessment Format

90 multiple choice questions (closed book) completed within 1 hour 30 minutes. The assessment will be completed virtually with online proctors administered by CASI.

Upon completing 100% of the mandatory course content and achieving over 75% in the assessment, you will receive a digital certificate of completion.

Upcoming Examination Dates

Examinations are held quarterly; the examination slots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

• 8 August 2026 (Saturday) 10:00 – 11:30 HKT

Candidates should only sit for an examination once they have completed 100% of all mandatory course content on the CASI Academy, including the webinar(s), and achieve a 75% pass mark in the examination, to receive the Certificate of Completion.

Retake Fees & Arrangements

• Retake fee: USD 50
• Retake fee, including 6 month extended access to the CASI Academy: USD 100

If candidates fail the exam at the first attempt, they are entitled to 1 retake opportunity. Candidates will receive an email to schedule the retake within 14 days of exam completion.

If candidates fail the second attempt, they should re-enrol into the HKGFA-CASI programme.
